Proficient Plumbing & Drain: From an Agency Platform to a Custom Website
We replaced Proficient Plumbing & Drain’s old website with a 74-page site we designed and coded by hand. Organic search clicks rose 54% in just the first 30 days.
The Old Site
Proficient Plumbing & Drain serves homeowners and businesses across the Sacramento region, from West Sacramento out to Davis and Roseville. Their old site ran on another agency’s platform. When we looked under the hood, we found problems quietly costing them in search:
- The same code pasted on every page. All 59 pages carried an identical block of structured data (the code that tells Google who a business is and what it does), with nothing tying the pages together.
- A phone number Google couldn't read. A one-letter typo in that code ("telePhone" instead of "telephone") hid the number from every search engine that reads it.
- An outdated address. The code still pointed to the company's old shop in Carmichael.
- Thin service pages. Several pages had a sentence or two of copy, often printed twice.
- No legal pages. There was no privacy policy, terms of service or accessibility statement.
What we built

Every section gives visitors a clear path to request service or call the office directly. Our build focused on clean, efficient code and strong local search fundamentals. We set up:
- 74 pages, each with one job. Dedicated pages for every service the company offers: drain cleaning and hydro jetting, sewer and water lines, leak and slab-leak detection, repiping, water heaters, water treatment and pumps. Location hubs for Sacramento, Davis and Roseville, each with five city-specific service pages. Plus about, reviews, service area, contact, and a full set of privacy, terms and accessibility pages.
- A design that looks like the company, not a template. The green and gold come straight off their service vans, and the dotted texture in the header is lifted from the van wrap. Every photo is their own crew on real jobs, drawn from two photo shoots, with no stock imagery.
- Clear contact options designed for local plumbing clients. A tap-to-call number in the header, a call bar pinned to the bottom of every phone screen, and a free-estimate form on every page. Each request goes straight into ServiceTitan, the office's job software, and to the office inbox, with spam filtered out before it arrives. A service-area map shows customers at a glance whether the company covers their town.
- Search fundamentals done properly. Each page carries connected structured data describing the business, its services, its FAQs and where the page sits on the site. Clean URLs, breadcrumbs, an XML sitemap, and a robots.txt that welcomes AI search tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity.
- A fast platform that needs no page-builder updates. Plain HTML, CSS and a small amount of PHP and JavaScript. No plugins, no theme, and nothing that breaks when an update rolls out.
What changed
In the first 30 days after launch, organic search clicks rose 54% compared to the 30 days before, according to Google Search Console.
The bigger change is underneath. Google can now read the phone number, the right address, and how every service and town page connects. And every estimate request lands straight in ServiceTitan, so the office never has to retype a lead.
This time, the site is theirs.
